About Iron Tigers
Iron Tigers Basketball Club is a newly launched basketball club on the Central Coast, dedicated to providing playing and training opportunities for kids in a fun and competitive environment. We focus on developing skills, teamwork, and confidence in young athletes through local competitions and structured training sessions.
Iron Tigers is focused on local domestic competitions rather than representative-level competitions. We’re here to offer more playing opportunities for kids who want to develop their skills without the pressure of high-level representative basketball.

Team Formation and Training
For the most part, players can be placed on the same team as their friends. However, over time we may need to balance teams to match skill levels and ensure appropriate competition.
We operate on a "playing equals development" principle. This means that all players will receive equal playing time as much as possible in each game. Our focus is on ensuring that every player has the opportunity to grow and develop, regardless of their current skill level.
Training sessions are held at CC Hoops Kincumber located at 19 Cochrone St, Kincumber NSW 2251, Australia. Training times vary, but typically occur both mornings and evenings.
Games are typically 40 minutes, so allow for an hour total. Training sessions are either 60 or 90 minutes depending on the age group. Participation in 3x3 competitions during school holidays is optional.
Competitions and Events
Iron Tigers teams will primarily compete in the CCB Terrigal competition. We are also exploring competitions at Niagara Park, Lakehaven, PCYC Bateau Bay, and Woy Woy. Additionally, we will participate in optional 3x3 competitions during school holidays.
Yes! Term 1 training will begin in January 2025. Players can join early and participate in our training sessions to prepare for the Winter competition.
Parent and Player Expectations
Coaches are responsible for their teams, and we ask parents not to coach from the sidelines. We prioritise teamwork and player development over winning.
Yes, each team will need a parent to assist with bench duty during games. While we don’t require team managers, coaches will manage their teams on game day. Parents can also express interest in coaching roles.
We will use WhatsApp groups and email to keep parents informed about training, games, and other important updates.
Additional Information
Players should bring their own basketball to training. Water bottles are available for purchase but are not mandatory. Reversible training singlets must be purchased separately.
We welcome players of all experience levels. Our supportive environment focuses on developing skills and confidence, making it a great place for beginners.
