Coach Education, Fierce Hustle & New U14 Girls Team!
Welcome to the Week 6 Wrap-Up (Round 2 Results)
It’s been another big week for Iron Tigers, both on and off the court. Round 2 saw our teams continue to find their rhythm, with some gritty performances, promising improvements, and valuable lessons. We also kicked off our Lakehaven team with their first official game and launched our Iron Tigers Trade Zone — a new way for families to help each other out. Off-court, Coach Matt spent a few days in Canberra learning from some of the best in the country at the Basketball Australia Coaches Conference — and came back full of ideas to grow the program.

🏀 On the Court This Week
Week 6 saw mixed results across the club, but strong intent and effort were clear in every age group. Several teams played shorthanded or battled tough conditions — including slippery courts and physical matchups — but continued to show grit and growth.
Thanks also to a number of coaches who stepped in to help cover their peers by coaching other teams this week. Your effort and support doesn’t go unnoticed.

🗣 From the Director
Spending time at the Basketball Australia Coaches Conference was a great reminder that coaching isn’t just about giving instructions — it’s about designing environments that help players learn through experience.
That’s the shift we’re making across Iron Tigers: less “do this because I said so” and more “try this and see what happens.” It’s about building thinkers, not just followers.
Across the club this week, we saw players starting to take ownership of their game — asking better questions, making smarter decisions, and supporting each other in new ways. That’s the kind of growth that lasts longer than any scoreboard.
