Week 3: Big Wins, Late Games & Rep Round Ready!

đź“° IRON TIGERS WEEK 3 WRAP-UP
Week 3 of 4 in the grading rounds is complete, and we continue to see real growth across our teams — in effort, teamwork, and confidence.

🏀 On the Court This Week
Our U10F White girls played a late game on Wednesday and, despite their best efforts, were edged out in a tough loss. Fatigue crept in during the final stages, but their grit and heart remained on display. We’re proud of how they kept pushing to the final whistle.

U10 Boys Black grabbed another win on Wednesday, continuing their steady improvement in teamwork, spacing, and defensive pressure. Coach Will guided the group strongly once again (his official head coaching debut was last week!), and the boys continue to build chemistry and discipline.

U12F White, coached by Abi, earned high praise for their performance — including from a parent on the opposing team, who called them the best side he’d seen. Their ball movement and layups were a highlight, with rebounding and off-ball movement the next focus.

U12F Orange, coached by Felicity, were in the middle of a tight, well-contested game on Friday night before the match had to be abandoned due to a player on the opposing team becoming unwell on court. Coach Felicity was proud of how calmly and respectfully her players handled the situation.

U12 Black had a commanding 12–2 win on Friday, with Coach Anthony full of praise for the team’s execution. Their passing, spacing, and rebounding stood out, and Oscar earned the team encouragement award for his nonstop hustle at both ends of the floor.

U14 White, coached by Nat, played a close and competitive game with great progress in ball control and court vision. Screens led to smart scoring opportunities, and defensive intensity lifted — with a bit more focus on staying in front of their man still to come.

U14 Black, coached by Byron, showed strong rebounding and ran their half-court sets and BLOB plays effectively. Areas for improvement included defensive effort and transition offence, but individual players like Jack and Hayden made solid contributions.

U16 Black, under Coach Georgia, worked well together throughout their game. They’ll be turning attention to boxing out, learning their inbound plays, and improving off-ball movement — but overall, it was a strong showing.

On Monday, U18 Black and U16F Black both picked up wins, while U18 Orange fought hard to earn a draw. U18 White, U16 White, and U14 Orange all had byes.

🌟 It’s Been a Big Week For… Coach Nat Dalton!
Coach Nat’s been absolutely everywhere this week — coaching U16 White on Monday and U14 White on Tuesday, running U14 training on Wednesday and U16 training on Friday. She capped off her week by suited up for the Waves Youth League Women’s team against Penrith Panthers on Saturday afternoon. Huge week, Coach — thank you for everything you bring to the club!

đź—Ł From the Director
I’m just so happy. There’s nothing better than watching kids thrive on the court and seeing our coaches fully embrace their role in that journey. The energy, the growth, the connection — it’s everything I hoped Iron Tigers would be. I’m looking forward to wrapping up grading next week and locking in full comp fixtures – I know all the parents are waiting for set game days and times!!!
