Iron Tigers Basketball Club – Week 8 Wrap-Up

This week has been full steam ahead behind the scenes. We have locked in our first ever girls-only elite clinic with Paris and Joni, confirmed venues for Term 3 training and Skills Academy, and started preparing a special State of Origin style event for later in the year. Some of our teams will also be heading to Sydney for a one-day tournament during the school holidays.

On top of that, we have hoodie deliveries on the way, final rosters and grading nearly done for our Bateau Bay teams, and we are recruiting and allocating coaches ready for Term 3. There is a lot happening and I appreciate everyone’s support and clear communication which helps keep everything running smoothly for our players and families.

πŸ€ On the Court This Week
Week 8 brought mixed results in terms of wins and losses, but the effort has been strong right across the club. It’s that time of year where plenty of kids are unwell…thank you to everyone who’s pitched in to help teams when we’ve been short on numbers.

Please remember:
Let your team manager know as soon as possible if you’ll be late or unavailable for games. We’ve had a few teams run out with only four players, and others needing last-minute help from younger age groups.
Keep us updated about training attendance too. Players and coaches plan sessions expecting full teams; when most of a team doesn’t turn up, it affects everyone and creates extra costs we could avoid. If we know in advance, we can plan better and keep costs down for everyone.
Thank you for your help and understanding, it makes a huge difference.

πŸ—£ From the Director
One of my favourite parts of this club is seeing how our families and players look out for each other, especially during the busy winter stretch. From stepping in when teammates are unwell to providing lifts to and from gamesand keeping communication clear, these small things shape a club culture we can all be proud of.
Thank you for being part of it and for backing each other week in and week out. Please keep that Iron Tigers spirit strong as we roll towards the end of term.
